# Branding and domains

Learners see your brand, and Learnt's name isn't on any page they see. Set it under **Branding** in the Course Editor.

## Branding settings

- **Logo:** PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, up to 4 MB. Shown in your learners' header and emails; PNG or JPG also shows on certificates.
- **Platform name:** what learners see in the header, the browser tab and emails.
- **Brand color:** a hex value such as `#0F766E`. Used for buttons, links and certificates.
- **Certificate signer (optional):** a name and title printed as the certificate's signature. Leave the name blank to leave that line off.
- **Support email (recommended):** shown to learners on the sign-in page and if their access lapses. Replies to their emails come to you. Leave it blank and learners see no address, and replies to their emails go to Learnt's inbox (hello@learnt.tech) instead of yours, so set one before you invite.

### The look of learner pages

Four optional settings change how every learner page looks. Leave them alone and pages keep the standard look.

- **Header:** white, or your brand color. With the brand color your logo sits on a small white badge, and the header text turns dark automatically if your color is light.
- **Page background:** plain, a soft tint of your brand color, or a picture you upload. Lessons stay on a white panel, so they're always easy to read.
- **Course cover picture (optional):** a wide picture behind the course title on the course page. Pictures are PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, up to 4 MB; about 1600 pixels wide works well.
- **Fonts:** Modern (Geist), Classic (Lora headings with Source Sans 3), Friendly (Nunito) or Plain (the device's own font).

The preview in the Branding section shows a learner page as you change these.

Press **Save**. Changes apply to every page and to emails sent from then on.

## Your web address

Every workspace gets an address at `yourname.learnt.tech`. Learners sign in at `yourname.learnt.tech/login`; the banner at the top of the Course Editor shows it with a **Copy link** button.

You can change the address under Branding (**Web address**). Invitation links and certificate QR codes already sent use the old address and stop working, so change it before you invite learners.

Rules: 3–63 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens, no hyphen at either end, and not a reserved word such as `app` or `www`. See [`slug_invalid`](https://learnt.tech/docs/errors#slug_invalid) and [`slug_taken`](https://learnt.tech/docs/errors#slug_taken).

## Your own domain

You can put your training on your own address, e.g. `training.yourcompany.com`. It's included from the first day of the trial.

1. Under **Custom domain** in the Course Editor, enter the domain and press **Save**.
2. Learnt shows the exact DNS record to add at your domain registrar.
3. Press **Check now** after adding it. When the domain is live, it replaces `yourname.learnt.tech` in invitations, sign-in links and certificate QR codes.

Step-by-step instructions for common registrars: [connecting your own domain](https://learnt.tech/custom-domain-help).

`learnt.tech` addresses can't be used as a custom domain ([`domain_platform_host`](https://learnt.tech/docs/errors#domain_platform_host)), and a domain can belong to only one workspace ([`domain_in_use`](https://learnt.tech/docs/errors#domain_in_use)).
