Put your training on your own domain

Your learners sign in at an address like training.yourcompany.com instead of a learnt.tech one. It's usually one record at the company where you bought your domain, and it takes a few minutes of your time.

Before you start

Step 1 — Enter your domain in Learnt

  1. Sign in to Learnt and open the Course Editor.
  2. Scroll to Custom domain, type your domain (for example training.yourcompany.com) and press Save.
  3. Learnt shows you the exact record to add, with a Copy button for each value. Keep that tab open.

For a subdomain the record looks like this (an example; your own value may differ):

TypeName (or Host)Value (or Points to)
CNAMEtrainingcname.vercel-dns.com

For a bare domain it's an A record with the name @ and the number shown in the Custom domain section. Always copy the values from there. They're made for your domain.

Occasionally Learnt also shows a TXT record. Add that one too. It proves the domain is yours.

Step 2 — Add the record where your DNS lives

Every provider looks a little different, but you're always looking for DNS or DNS records, then Add record. Enter the Type, Name and Value exactly as Learnt shows them. If there's a TTL box, leave the default. The menus below are as of November 2026.

GoDaddy

My Products → find your domain → DNS → Add New Record.

Namecheap

Domain List → Manage next to your domain → Advanced DNS → Add New Record.

Cloudflare

Pick your domain → DNS → Records → Add record.

Important on Cloudflare: set Proxy status to DNS only (the grey cloud, not the orange one). With the orange cloud on, your domain can't go live.

Squarespace Domains (including domains that moved from Google Domains)

Domains → your domain → DNS → Custom records → add the record.

Microsoft 365

Admin center → Settings → Domains → your domain → DNS records → Add record.

Somewhere else?

Search your provider's help for “add a CNAME record”. Or send the record from your Custom domain section to whoever manages your website. It's a two-minute job for them.

Step 3 — Wait for it to go live

Back in Learnt, press Check now. Most domains go live within a few minutes. Some providers take a few hours, and the official worst case is 48 hours. You don't need to watch it. Learnt checks again every time you open the Course Editor.

When it says Live, everything switches over by itself: invitation emails, sign-in links, the login page and the QR code on new certificates all use your domain. A secure (https) certificate for your domain is set up automatically.

Not going live?

Changing or removing your domain later

You can remove it in the Custom domain section any time, and your learners go back to your learnt.tech address. One thing to know: certificates already issued carry a QR code with your domain in it. If you stop pointing that domain at Learnt, those QR codes stop working. If you're switching to a new domain, keep the old record in place for a while.
